How It All Works
Ordering
Bridal salons often want to provide you with a large selection of styles to choose from.
This limits us to having only a sample gown from each style. However, these gowns can
be ordered to your choice of color and size. We also have hundreds of discounted gowns
priced to sell off the rack.
Planning Ahead
If you’re a little confused about when you should order your gowns, we can help
you out. To make sure you have everything in time for your big day, you should
place the order for your bridal gown at least 6 to 8 months before your wedding
date. This gives time for the manufacturer to make the dress, ship it, and for any
alterations you might need. Similarly, your bridesmaids’ gowns should be ordered
4 to 6 months in advance. If your wedding date is especially close, most
manufacturers also provide rush delivery, for an additional fee.
Appointments
To better serve you, we recommend making an appointment ahead of time. We always accept walk-ins, but we can spend more time with you if we know when you’re coming in.
Sizing
Generally, gowns in the bridal industry run small. For example, if you normally wear a size 6, you would probably order a size 8 or 10, depending on the designer and style. According to your current measurements and the manufacturer’s charts, we will recommend what size to order. Of course we can make suggestions about your size, but you always have the final say on your order.
Alterations
We want to make sure your gown fits perfectly.
Bride’s Choice provides all types of alterations performed by professional tailors. Pricing for alterations significantly vary with the type of gown, and can only be determined once we see you in your gown.
Our professional tailors and seamstresses have over 30 years of experience in the bridal industry. They’ve worked on literally thousands of gowns and have “seen it all.”
If you already have a seamstress in mind, that’s no problem too. Alterations are completely optional, and you can pick up your gown as soon as your final payment has been made.
Out of State Bridesmaids
If you’re a bridesmaid that lives out of our area, we can make ordering your gown simple and stress free. Just send us your measurements and check deposit, and we will discuss an appropriate size and place your order with the rest of the bridal party. We strongly recommend all measurements be taken by a professional seamstress (many local bridal salons provide this service for a minimal fee).
Tuxedos
We know wedding planning isn’t easy, so we provide the same courteous service for men’s tuxedo rentals. Plan on having your groom and groomsmen come in for measurements and to place the order at least two months before the wedding date. A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required for all tuxedo rental orders. If you have out of town groomsmen, simply send us the measurements and deposits, and we’ll order the same tuxedo for them.
Of course, the tuxedos are not custom made, and minor adjustments may be required for the perfect fit. The Thursday before the wedding date, we will set up a fitting time for all the groomsmen to try on their tuxedos. We will make any adjustments or replacements and have everything ready for pickup that evening or the next day.
